A Type I denim jacket in the 506XX pattern, with a single chest pocket and a buckled cinch back.

The Piece

The first Levi’s denim jacket silhouette is easily recognised: one pocket on the right breast, pleats down the front and a pair of buckles that cinch the waist at the back. The denim has faded to a deep, uneven blue with soft whiskering at the elbows.

Collar, cuffs and seams show the honest repairs of a working garment, and the inside of the collar carries a hand-stitched outline from an earlier mend.
