A right-handed BERES IS-06 set from Honma’s Sakata works, 7 clubs with ARMRQ X 47 shafts in regular flex in the three-star grade.
The Piece
BERES is the line Honma builds at the top of its range in Sakata, Yamagata, where the heads are forged and polished by hand and the ARMRQ carbon shafts are wound in the company’s own factory. The star grade on the shaft sets the tier: two stars for the standard ARMRQ shaft, three for a lighter, higher-grade shaft with more gold on the head, four and five for 24-karat gold plates and rings.
The IS-06, launched in 2018, is a forged iron with a thin L-cup face and a wide sole, the BERES design for players who want both distance and a soft feel. This set runs 5 to 10 plus SW, 7 clubs in all, right-handed, on ARMRQ X 47 shafts in regular flex.
