BERES IS-03, two-star grade, 6 to 11 plus AW and SW, left-handed, on ARMRQ8 2S shafts in stiff flex.
The Piece
Since 1959 Honma has made every club in Sakata, in Yamagata prefecture, and BERES is the series that carries the house’s full craft: forged heads, hand polishing and carbon shafts wound on site. The star grade printed on the shaft tells the tier at a glance, from two-star standard shafts to three-star premium builds and the gold-plated four- and five-star editions.
The IS-03 of 2014 is a forged cavity iron with a slot in the sole that lets the face flex, pairing a soft feel with easy height. This set runs 6 to 11 plus AW and SW, 8 clubs in all, left-handed, on ARMRQ8 2S shafts in stiff flex.
