Yellow paint across indigo was the graphic gesture that made Hidehiko Yamane’s Osaka label a byword in Japanese amekaji denim, and this Genes Osaka pair carries it with quiet confidence. Sized 33 x 35 in, the pair is offered with its photographs standing as the complete record.
The Piece
EVISU Genes Osaka jeans from the Yamane line carrying yellow painted decoration, in size 33 x 35 in. EVISU grew out of Osaka's denim culture in the 1990s under Hidehiko Yamane, and its painted rear marks became the signature that set Japanese reverence for vintage American workwear against a bold graphic hand. The photographs are the full record of this pair's design and present state.
