The Piece

This pair captures the eccentric energy that made early EVISU denim a landmark of Japanese streetwear. Dark indigo denim carries oversized utility-style pockets and bold mustard-yellow painted graphics. The back is dominated by EVISU's monumental Daicock, painted across both rear pockets and extending dramatically down the thighs. The front pairs two symbols asymmetrically: a stylized 戎 kanji, associated with Ebisu, on one pocket and a cheerful smiley face on the other, deliberately mismatched and playful.

The painted Daicock forms an almost architectural shape across the rear, while the oversized curved pockets, exposed rivets, rear cinch strap and large EVISU Genes Osaka fabric waistband patch give the jeans a reconstructed workwear character. The rich, comparatively restrained indigo lets the yellow paint and golden contrast stitching blaze across the surface, and wear, cracking and darkened marks within the paint add genuine age and texture rather than the uniformity of a new reproduction.
