Dior Men Cannage Perforated Lambskin Harrington Blouson, Navy, Kim Jones Era, Size 48

A navy lambskin blouson from Dior Men under Kim Jones, plain and polished at the front, and opened across the back by a large panel of laser-cut Cannage, the house’s woven-cane motif.

The Piece

The Cannage pattern comes from the Napoleon III cane chairs Christian Dior used to seat guests at his first shows in 1947, and it has since become one of the house codes. When Kim Jones took over Dior menswear in 2018 he brought Cannage into leather in new ways, quilting it, embossing it and, as here, cutting it straight through the hide.

This blouson is made from smooth navy lambskin with a soft lustre. The front is clean and Harrington-like: a stand collar with snap tab, a two-way zip with a DIOR-engraved puller, angled flap pockets with tonal snaps and snap cuffs. Across the back yoke and lower back, the leather is laser-perforated in the Cannage grid, a few small panels deliberately left solid, and the hem is a ribbed leather band.

Size 48 has a neat, straight fit that sits on the hip. Because it is unlined, it moves like a shirt and works from spring through autumn, over a fine knit or a white T-shirt.

Cannage-perforated leather from the Kim Jones years is seldom seen, and this example is in excellent pre-owned condition.
