A reversible COTE MER bomber that sets military camouflage against embroidered kimono and obi textiles, joining the Vietnam War souvenir-jacket tradition to Japanese boro-style remake work. Handmade as a single example, it offers two faces in one size L jacket.
The Piece
The souvenir jacket, or sukajan, took shape in postwar Japan, and Vietnam War-era examples are among its most evocative variants. COTE MER draws on that lineage here, setting camouflage cloth on one face and embroidered kimono and obi textiles on the other, finished in a boro-inflected patchwork spirit.
Reversible by design, the jacket can be worn as a military bomber or turned to show its Japanese textile side. Like every COTE MER piece it is handmade one of one.
