Multiple kimono, many rich in embroidery, are pieced into this COTE MER riders jacket, a luxurious meeting of Japanese wagara and biker form. It is handmade in the atelier's own workshop and exists only once, a statement piece for street or sporty dress.

The Piece

This riders jacket uses kimono, the garment that symbolizes Japan, assembled from several pieces with many embroidered parts. The current title places it within the souvenir-jacket tradition and names wagara, obi and boro elements.

COTE MER revives the charm of traditional materials that carry the feeling of Japan's history and translates them into modern clothing. Every scrap is put to use to draw out the full value of the textile, in keeping with the house's SDGs-conscious, design-led approach.

The jacket is versatile enough for street or sporty styling. Handmade in COTE MER's own workshop, it is one of one.
