A brushed-fleece hoodie with random-cut vintage kimono laid over it, so that several traditional Japanese textiles sit on a streetwear form. Handmade by COTE MER in its own workshop, it is the only one of its kind.

The Piece

The base is a fleece-lined, brushed hoodie, over which randomly cut kimono fabric has been applied. A number of traditional Japanese kimono materials are used, each chosen to show its charm to the fullest, so that clothing steeped in the history of old Japan is reborn as a modern piece that works on the street and in fashion alike.

Practical details balance the decoration: the hoodie has side pockets, zipped side pockets and a side zipper.

COTE MER makes its originals by dismantling vintage items and reconstructing them by hand, putting even the offcuts to use so that each piece is both conscious of its materials and strongly designed. It suits anyone who would rather not overlap with others.
