Chanel Vintage CC Round Medallion Brooch, Gold Tone, Autumn 1994 (94A)

A gilt medallion of about 47 mm, its surface worked like beaten metal and the CC raised at the centre, stamped for Autumn 1994. The season collectors ask for by number, in the brooch form that wears best.

The Piece

Chanel’s 1994 bijoux carry a heavy, warm gilding that has never been matched since, and the round medallion is the clearest canvas for it: the textured ground throws light in every direction while the smooth CC stays calm at the centre.

The scale is right for a jacket lapel, a coat collar or the band of a hat, and the pin fastening is the sturdy roll-over type of the period.
