Chanel Vintage CC Lozenge Openwork Brooch, Gold Plated, 65 mm

A diamond-shaped frame of engraved gilt, 65 mm point to point, with the CC floating in the open centre. One of the larger vintage Chanel brooches, and one of the lightest to wear because of its openwork.

The Piece

Chanel’s lozenge brooches of the early 1990s were made for the shoulders of its tweed jackets, where a smaller piece would be lost. The engraved border catches light like a frame around the monogram.

The CC is cast separately and fixed within the frame, so it has depth. The pin is the roll-over type and sits well on heavy cloth.

• Very good vintage condition, with light surface marks and fine scratches to the gilding.
