The Piece

By the mid-2000s Chanel’s jewellery studio was experimenting with structure, and the cage earring is one of the quiet successes of that period: the CC appears through the bars rather than sitting on top of them, so the logo is discovered rather than announced.

Clip-on, light and close to the ear, they wear comfortably for a whole evening. The ribbed surface keeps the gilding lively in low light.
