The sign above the door at 31 rue Cambon, cast in glossy black resin with the number 31, the house name in gilt and a swag of chain beneath, finished with a crystal CC. Spring 2024, near unused, boxed.

The Piece

Chanel’s Spring 2024 bijoux played with the architecture of the house, and this brooch is the most literal of them: the enamelled street sign as it hangs over the boutique, down to the chain that recalls the shop’s own door handle.

At about 32 by 35 mm it is a conversation piece for a lapel or a bag strap, and the resin keeps it light.
