What “mandala pair” means

The mandala pair refers to the Ryokai system presented as two complementary panels: Taizokai and Kongokai. In practice, they appear as paired displays (two scrolls, two paintings, two framed panels) intended to be studied together.

The pair exists because awakening is both inclusive and precise: Taizokai emphasizes compassionate inclusion as a field; Kongokai emphasizes indestructible clarity and method as a grid. Together they prevent collapse into either softness without engineering or engineering without tenderness.

1. Mode: Taizokai = field/inclusion. Kongokai = method/clarity.
2. Feeling-tone: Taizokai tends toward gathering. Kongokai toward discipline.
