Standing nearly half a meter tall, this Bandai jumbo figure of Sailor Moon was made in Japan in 1993, during the original television broadcast of Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon. Usagi Tsukino appears in her Sailor Guardian uniform with signature odango hairstyle and flowing twin tails, an early release now increasingly difficult to find in display-worthy condition.

The Piece

Unlike the smaller action figures released during the 1990s, this oversized figure was designed as an eye-catching display piece, faithfully reproducing Naoko Takeuchi's heroine with bright anime colors, expressive eyes, sculpted sailor uniform details and an instantly recognizable silhouette. The twin-tail hair is sculpted and the painted details are original.

Produced under license by Bandai in Japan, this early-Heisei release belongs to the first wave of Sailor Moon merchandise. Its generous scale makes it a centerpiece for anime collections, game rooms, retro toy displays or manga-inspired interiors, and for collectors of Bandai, 1990s anime and Japanese pop culture alike.
