Graded PSA 10 Gem Mint, the highest grade the system awards, this English-language Asa Borake-chan card (#114) from Takashi Murakami's 108 Flowers series stands as a benchmark copy. Its holographic foil throws an even, coherent light across the composition, and the slab fixes the card at the summit of its condition.
The Piece
Asa Borake-chan occupies a high-recognition position among the characters of Murakami's 108 Flowers, the artist's serialized trading card series. This holographic English variant has been certified by PSA at Gem Mint 10, the top of the grading scale; there is no higher grade within the system.
The holographic surface works as a disciplined field of light. Full-spectrum scatter foil, radial and particulate reflective layering and a high-density sparkle band around the perimeter combine so that the light envelops the central figure without compromising clarity, a calibrated brilliance rather than a chaotic shimmer.
The English variant circulates more widely than the Japanese issue, which brings greater visibility but also stiffer competition for top-grade copies. Within that field PSA 10 examples remain exceptionally limited because of the stringent grading criteria, and where a PSA 9 invites comparison, a PSA 10 settles it.
Within 108 Flowers, collector value converges on character desirability, rarity tier, condition grade and circulation. This card aligns all four, and once encapsulated it moves from a flexible object to a fixed reference specimen, visible through its shell but no longer handled.
