Two machines that look as though they outlived the end of the world and kept going: a pocket bike and a compact four-wheel buggy, hand-built in Hiroshima in a Mad Max idiom of cages, spikes, lamps and pipes. The engines run and both machines move, yet they are art machines first, functional sculpture for a collection.
The Piece
This set belongs to a strange and wonderful category, functional sculpture. It does not try to be a pristine motorcycle or a clean kart; it is welded, bolted, patched and reborn as a rolling costume for the imagination. Its value lies in visual density rather than pedigree: cages, spikes, lamps, pipes and improvised armor build a scrap-cathedral silhouette in which every angle carries detail. In a collection it behaves like installation art, staged in a showroom, studio, garage gallery or themed space.
The pair comprises one mini pocket bike and one small four-wheel buggy, hand-built in a non-factory, art-machine manner from mixed parts and fabricated metalwork. They were made fast and bold, with intention and character rather than factory tolerances. Built primarily as display machines, their engines run and they can move, though they are not finished road vehicles. Multiple lights, decorative steampunk and wasteland fittings and custom bodywork complete the effect.
The aesthetic is a Japanese interpretation of post-apocalyptic machine mythology: Mad Max brutality in the spikes, cages, asymmetry and battle-machine cues; steampunk mood in the lamps, pipes and pseudo-mechanical ornament; and a bosozoku-adjacent rebellion in their excess and aggressive silhouettes. The appeal lies in the contradiction of engineered chaos, lawless in appearance yet coherent enough to operate.
Such machines sit within a long lineage of DIY machine culture, from rat rods and battle cars to kinetic sculpture and vehicles built for shows, film and parades, and within Japan's own tradition of dense, theatrical customization. Most wild customs disappear because they are hard to store, insure and move; those that survive find collectors who understand that their restoration means stabilization and display. The set suits set designers and themed venues, garage-gallery collectors, post-apocalyptic and science-fiction enthusiasts, and admirers of one-off machines.

- Maker: Hand-built custom art machines (non-factory)
- Origin: Hiroshima, Japan
- Material: Mixed parts with fabricated, welded metalwork
- Set: Two pieces: one mini pocket bike, one small four-wheel buggy

Condition
- Overall condition is rough; wear, grime and build variance are to be expected, and in-person inspection is strongly encouraged.
- Engines run and the machines can move, with some functionality confirmed, but they are not finished to perfection; expect tuning and maintenance.
- Points to examine include the soundness of welded assemblies (possible fatigue cracks under grime), wheel tracking and axle alignment, and wiring, which should be assumed to be DIY.
- Spikes, antennas and cage ends are sharp protrusions that affect handling, packing and safety.
Freight Logistics
Because of their packed weight, dimensions and fragile protrusions, the machines cannot travel by standard parcel services such as EMS, DHL, FedEx or UPS and ship by cargo with professional crating. Preparation may include reinforced packing and coordination with domestic logistics providers, international freight consolidators and export brokers; estimated delivery is typically 6 to 10 weeks depending on routing, carrier availability and customs clearance. Liftgate or pallet delivery is recommended, and an exact freight quotation for each destination is prepared on request before purchase.
