From the 2024 Animogram collaboration with the artist Sun Yitian, model M11452 turns the wallet on chain into an oversized rabbit head: towering Monogram-canvas ears, a glossy pink calfskin face and wide eyes holding Louis Vuitton flowers. It is one of the most immediately recognizable pieces of the series, here in excellent near-unused condition.

The Piece

Some Louis Vuitton collaborations alter the surface of a familiar bag; this one alters the object itself. Sun Yitian's highly polished animal characters sit between fine art, advertising imagery, toys and digital-era iconography, and rather than placing artwork over existing silhouettes, several pieces in the collection let the animal become the architecture. M11452 is one of the clearest examples: the rabbit is not decoration applied to a handbag, the rabbit is the handbag. Its ears set the vertical silhouette, its face replaces the usual flap or front panel, its eyes outweigh any logo, and the Monogram panels around it anchor the character within Louis Vuitton's visual universe.

The large rounded eyes combine black, white and pale blue detailing with Louis Vuitton floral forms inside the pupils; a small red nose and smiling mouth soften the expression. The cheeks and forehead are rendered in vivid glossy pink calfskin with a lacquered, almost animated finish, and light moves dramatically across the curves of the cheeks, nose, forehead and ear interiors, emphasizing the near-digital quality of the artist's world. Above, two dramatically elongated ears rise from the body, pink inside, with brown Monogram canvas running through their outer structure and central sections.

Classic Monogram canvas appears across the ears, rear and perimeter, its deep brown ground and golden motifs giving a restrained foundation against the pink. That contrast is what keeps the rabbit tied to the House's travel and leather-goods tradition even as the piece becomes radically playful: the rabbit feels contemporary, the Monogram archival. Gold-tone fittings at the zipper, strap fittings and attachment points remain refined rather than oversized, the zipper follows the sculptural profile, and the structured perimeter shows the construction discipline beneath the fantasy.

Seen from the front it reads as character art; from the side, its bag construction becomes clear, which makes it as interesting on display as in wear.
