An unusually elaborate Ed Hardy satin bomber that carries Y2K tattoo culture into the construction of a Japanese-inspired sukajan. On the scarlet side a winged griffin, eagle, serpent and skull spread across nearly every panel, while the reverse turns into a comparatively minimal gold bomber with red sleeves.
The Piece
This reversible Ed Hardy souvenir jacket combines the flamboyant energy of Y2K tattoo culture with the dramatic construction of a sukajan. The embroidered side has a brilliant scarlet-red body framed by metallic gold sleeves, and its decoration extends across the back, chest and both sleeves rather than stopping at a single central motif.
Across the back, beneath the sweeping Ed Hardy signature, a muscular winged griffin-like creature descends through scattered cherry blossoms and falling petals: an eagle-like head, humanoid body, clawed feet and dramatic black-and-silver wings, a curious fusion of American tattoo imagery and Japanese floral symbolism. One sleeve carries a dense composition of an eagle, coiling serpent and stylized skull; the other an elongated ornamental ceremonial dagger with the Ed Hardy signature, surrounded by decorative scrollwork and flourishes. The front continues the narrative with additional creatures, skull imagery and smaller embroidered winged figures.
The eagle evokes independence, strength and elevated vision, the serpent transformation, danger and renewal, and the skull adds the memento mori of classic tattoo culture. Cherry blossoms soften the composition with beauty and transience, so the whole becomes a wearable tableau that moves between aggression and elegance.
Turned inside out, the jacket becomes a cleaner metallic gold satin bomber with scarlet red sleeves, offering two completely different moods in one garment. The styling, oversized Ed Hardy signature, tattoo-derived imagery and vivid satin palette are characteristic of the Y2K and early-2000s era; the piece is undated, but construction and design appear consistent with Ed Hardy's original tattoo-streetwear period rather than a minimalist contemporary interpretation.

Condition
- Good pre-owned condition with light signs of previous wear and storage.
- The satin keeps its vivid color and characteristic sheen, and the principal embroidered designs remain visually strong.
- Natural creasing, gentle surface wear and minor age-related imperfections may be present throughout the fabric; the photographs are an important part of the condition description.
Styling and Display
Let the embroidered red-and-gold side carry an otherwise restrained outfit, with black denim, leather boots or wide-leg trousers; the reverse gives a cleaner athletic bomber look with the same vivid color. On a garment stand or wall-mounted hanger, the embroidered side reads as tattoo-inspired textile art. Fit is best judged by comparing the flat measurements with a jacket that already fits well.
