Vacheron Constantin: Geneva Since 1755

Jean-Marc Vacheron founded the house in Geneva in 1755, and it is generally counted as the oldest watch manufacture to have run without interruption. François Constantin joined in 1819, and the Maltese cross became its emblem. Fine dress watches, complications and thin movements are the signature.

Collectors look first at case and dial condition, because polishing and refinishing are the common faults on older dress watches. Each piece is recorded by reference, movement state, any service history we can confirm, and the completeness of box and papers.

Japanese collectors have prized the house for decades, and pieces from private collections often come with their original certificates.
