Kustom culture and Yokosuka tradition meet in one reversible Tailor Toyo sukajan. The “On The Road” face puts a snarling cartoon beast behind the wheel of a red hot rod, flames streaming down both sleeves; the reverse answers with a skull, a tiger, Mount Fuji and a torii, all on satin that flickers from black to cobalt.

The Piece

This striking reversible sukajan captures two worlds in one collectible piece: American kustom hot rod energy on one side and bold Japanese skull-and-tiger iconography on the other. The satin body shifts between deep black and electric blue tones, with dramatic embroidery throughout and strong visual presence from every angle.

The “On The Road” face carries embroidered text reading “On The Road,” “The Taste Of Freedom” and “High Performance.” Across the back, a fierce cartoon creature drives a red hot rod, rendered in dense embroidery with motion effects and bold custom-culture attitude, while elongated white flame motifs run down both sleeves to give the jacket a biker and garage-built feel. The chest carries embroidered tiger and skull graphics that continue the rebellious rockabilly and kustom aesthetic.

The reverse leans fully into Japanese souvenir-jacket language. “Japan” script crosses the upper back, accompanied by a skull motif, a tiger head, Mount Fuji, a torii gate, cherry blossoms, decorative stars and cloud-like framing motifs, script reading “Skull and Tiger” and the additional wording “BattleField / Both of Strong Motif in Japan.” This side will appeal especially to lovers of unusual wagara, skull imagery and Japanese-American fusion design.
