Takashi Murakami Flower Skateboard Deck Set of Five, Kaikai Kiki Superflat Mural, Tonari no Zingaro, 2019

Five skateboard decks that join into a single sweeping mural of Takashi Murakami's smiling flowers. Released in 2019 through Tonari no Zingaro, the artist's gallery in Nakano Broadway, the complete set remains unused in its shrink wrap, ready to hang as one installation.

The Piece

Each deck forms part of a panoramic bloom, the colors shifting from deep purples to candy yellows, sky blues and radiant pinks, so that the set moves like a gradient across the wall. The smiling flowers, emblems of Murakami's Superflat philosophy, scatter across every surface with meticulous precision, their oversized compositions echoing the motifs familiar from his museum exhibitions and international brand collaborations.

Kaikai Kiki, founded by Murakami, is the production studio behind many of his best-known works. Tonari no Zingaro, his gallery in Nakano Broadway, served from 2010 to 2022 as the exclusive release point for highly limited prints, figures and skate decks, and pieces from that era are now central to Murakami collections.

Displayed horizontally, vertically or in a staggered formation, the five decks read immediately as a mural, turning a room into a gallery wall.
