Louis Vuitton Vivienne Roller Skate GI0692 Wood and Pink Leather Figure, 2021, with Storage Box

In the 2021 Roller Skate edition, Louis Vuitton's Monogram Flower character Vivienne laces up a pair of miniature blue skates on pink wheels and carries a tiny drink, framed by textured pink leather petals around a natural wood face. Made in Italy and standing approximately 24 cm, it is offered in excellent pre-owned condition with its storage box.

The Piece

Vivienne reinterprets one of Louis Vuitton's historic Monogram Flower motifs as a three-dimensional character: the flower becomes her face and surrounding petals, and each edition explores different materials, seasonal themes, cultural references, colors and miniature accessories. Roller Skate editions are among the more playful expressions of the idea, giving the character a recognizable activity and costume. At approximately 24 cm, GI0692 has a noticeably taller and more animated profile than many standard Vivienne display objects, halfway between luxury decorative art and a miniature fashion character.

Vivienne's four large petals are covered in saturated pink textured leather, framing the exposed wooden face, and a smaller turquoise blue Monogram Flower projects from the face as a dimensional leather eye detail. The lower body continues in exposed wood before resolving into a fully realized pair of miniature roller skates with deep blue uppers, contrasting white graphic details, bright pink wheels, dimensional miniature hardware and layered leather construction. A small pink-and-white drink accessory carried at the side adds a humorous lifestyle note and turns the character into a tiny scene, lending the piece a sense of motion that sets it apart from more static interpretations.

Natural wood forms the face and lower body, its grain clearly visible and naturally variable from one example to the next. Leather covers the petals, torso, arms, skate components and accessory details, with textured surfaces adding depth to the pink petals, and silver-tone hardware supplies metallic highlights. The petals are individually shaped rather than flat, and the arms are articulated visually through small leather components and contrasting hardware.
