The Piece

The Aburaya bathhouse of Spirited Away is rendered in a circular crest format that echoes the framing of traditional Japanese souvenir jackets. Unlike Japan-market GBL sukajan, this is an official U.S. collaboration with Her Universe, and it occupies a different lane in the Ghibli apparel ecosystem.

On the back the bathhouse rises vertically, richly embroidered with architectural depth; lantern reds and gold thread highlights create dimensional layering against the black nylon field. A circular gold frame encloses the structure, symbolically containing the spirit world, and “ABURAYA” is written in romanized lettering beneath. The palette of deep black base, crimson sleeves, gold accent piping, temple reds and jade greens is bold, theatrical and unmistakably cinematic.

Where GBL models use velvet or satin, this jacket is made in nylon: lightweight, travel-friendly, durable and easy to layer.
