The silk crepe de chine short-sleeved jacket that opened Yohji Yamamoto Pour Homme's Spring/Summer 2025 show as Look 1: a long, sheer black two-button jacket with layered opaque panels.
The Piece
A first look sets the tone of a collection, and for Spring/Summer 2025 Yamamoto opened Pour Homme with this jacket: tailoring in its lightest form, a long single-breasted jacket made in sheer black silk crepe de chine with short sleeves, worn as a summer coat.
The design plays with transparency. Panels of the same silk are layered in places, along the lapels, across the shoulders and in long vertical strips, so the jacket shows a pattern of opaque and see-through blocks that shifts with the light. Notched lapels, two buttons, three outer pockets and a rounded hem keep the classic jacket in view, while the short sleeves and long length turn it into something closer to a robe.
The composition label carries the product code HK-J72-441; it is 100 per cent silk, unlined, and made in Japan.
Tagged size 2, it measures 45 cm across the shoulder, 48 cm across the chest, 89 cm long, with a 23 cm sleeve. Worn over a black T-shirt or bare-armed with wide trousers, it suits a men's small to medium.
