A short asymmetric-zip blouson in black and grey diagonal-stripe linen and wool, its collar and lining in an old-world paisley jacquard, attributed to Autumn/Winter 2024.
The Piece
Pour Homme blousons are where Yohji Yamamoto plays most freely with workwear and biker shapes, and this one borrows the offset zip of a rider jacket while dressing it in a cloth that belongs to tailoring. Its product code places it in the HO family shared with Autumn/Winter 2024 runway pieces.
The shell is a 60% linen, 35% wool, 5% nylon twill woven in a fine diagonal stripe of black and grey, cut into a boxy blouson with a stand collar, an asymmetric front zip, slanted zip hand pockets and buttoned side tabs at the hem. The underside of the collar and the lining are in a dark paisley jacquard of bronze, teal and rust, which shows as a flash at the throat when the collar is turned.
The Yohji Yamamoto Pour Homme signature label is inside, size 2, made in Japan, with product code HO-Y08-104.
It wears short and wide, ending at the hip with dropped shoulders and a full sleeve, best with long, wide trousers. The linen in the cloth gives it a dry, slightly crisp handle and keeps it comfortable across a wide range of temperatures, so it serves from early autumn through to spring. The paisley collar is a private detail, seen only when the jacket is worn open or the collar is turned up.
