A current-season Undercover corduroy trucker from Autumn/Winter 2025, its back given over to a jacquard panel taken from the cover of Heldon's 1979 album Stand By, unworn and still carrying its tags.
The Piece
Jun Takahashi has always dressed his collections in the record sleeves he grew up with, and for Autumn/Winter 2025 he turned to Heldon, the French electronic group led by Richard Pinhas whose late-1970s records sit between Krautrock and early synthesiser music. The Stand By artwork, a hooded figure bent over in a wash of ice blue, is reproduced here as a woven jacquard panel that fills the entire back of the jacket, framed by the band name and album title in clean white boxes.
The front is deliberately quiet: a classic four-pocket trucker in fine black corduroy, snap-button chest flaps, a small red tab at the pocket, metal shanks down the placket and two vertical zip hand pockets set into the lower body, a modern touch that makes the jacket far more practical than the original workwear pattern. The UNDERCOVER JUN TAKAHASHI label sits at the back of the neck.
Model UC2E4209-1, tagged size 3 and made in Japan, with a corduroy body in 100% cotton and the jacquard back panel in 100% polyester. Undercover's size 3 corresponds to a men's medium to large; the cut is short and boxy, sitting at the hip with room for a hooded layer underneath.
It wears as easily over a white T-shirt as it does under a long coat, with the album artwork revealed only when the wearer turns away, which is precisely the point.
