A near-unworn Schott 613UST One Star rider in discontinued red cowhide, the tall cut with a tight fit, made in the USA and supplied with its Schott hanger.
The Piece
The 613 One Star has been in the Schott catalogue since the 1950s and remains the template for the motorcycle jacket. The 613UST variant pairs the classic pattern with a tall cut and the closer fit that Japanese wearers favour. Red has appeared only rarely and is no longer produced, so clean examples are becoming difficult to find.
This jacket is in a deep red cowhide that is smooth, supple and evenly coloured. It has the asymmetric zip front, snap collar points, zipped chest pocket, slanted zipped hand pockets, coin pocket, belted waist and zipped cuffs. The epaulettes are each set with a single metal star. Inside, it is lined with black diamond-quilted nylon over polyester padding, with cotton-blend sleeve linings for easy dressing.
The Schott crest label reads Made in USA, size 38 and Tall, with a Crafted with Pride in USA label and the gold Schott Bros. hanging loop. A Schott branded hanger is included.
Size 38 tall measures 45 cm across the shoulders and 56 cm pit to pit, with a 62 cm body and 63 cm sleeve. It suits a UK 38 chest with a trim, close fit.
