Prada's Monolith combat boot in brushed leather with a Re-Nylon shaft and the detachable triangle-logo pouch strapped to the ankle, on the chunky lugged sole that defined the house's footwear.
The Piece
The Monolith sole, introduced around 2019, turned Prada's footwear into one of the most recognisable silhouettes in contemporary luxury: an exaggerated, deeply lugged platform under classic shoe and boot patterns. The pouch combat boot is the most utilitarian version, pairing it with the house's Re-Nylon, the regenerated nylon that has replaced Prada's original industrial nylon.
The lower boot is glossy brushed leather with a rounded toe and lace-up front; the upper shaft is black Re-Nylon. A strap at the ankle carries a zipped nylon pouch bearing the enamelled triangle logo, and it can be detached. The lugged rubber Monolith sole adds height and grip.
Tagged Prada size 6 (UK sizing, approximately US 7), with a shaft height of about 24 cm and a sole height of about 5.8 cm at the heel.
Worn with cropped trousers or a long coat, it has the weight and presence that a minimal outfit needs.
