A distressed black denim trucker torn open to reveal a navy nylon flight jacket and orange quilted lining beneath, reference J13BL121, made in Japan, in size 46.

The Piece

Docking, the joining of two complete garments into one, is the clearest signature of Mihara Yasuhiro’s clothing. The house cuts a classic piece open and lets another show through, so that the result reads as a found, half-repaired object with two histories.

Here a black cotton denim trucker jacket, faded to charcoal and heavily abraded across the back, shoulders and sleeves, is spliced over a navy nylon flight jacket. Where the denim has been torn away, the nylon shows in raw-edged windows at the shoulders and across the back, and the hem drops into the flight jacket’s rib and its bright orange quilted lining. A centre zip with MMY puller, chest flap pockets with metal shanks, the QR modification label and the ‘Wearing Instructions’ patch complete it. The care label confirms 100% cotton denim, nylon panels, polyester padding, a wool rib and Japanese manufacture.

The cut is boxy and wide, with dropped shoulders and a cropped length, and the orange lining gives a flash of colour at the collar and hem when it is worn open.
