Mexico’s horsemen in their finery: embossed charro saddles, sombreros and spurs, framed in lavender and gold on a burgundy ground.
The Piece
The charreada is the Mexican rodeo, and its riders, the charros, are famous for silver-mounted saddles and embroidered hats. Hermès gathers that equipment into ornamental frames, with a rider at full gallop in each corner.
The burgundy and lavender colouring is warm and unusual; folded into a triangle it shows a saddle at the point.
About 88 cm (34.6 in) square, silk twill with hand-rolled edges.
