An unused Hermès Bolide 1923 Mini Touch in black Chèvre with handles in natural ombré lizard, a jewel-scaled version of the first zipped bag in fashion history.
The Piece
The Bolide began in 1923, when Émile-Maurice Hermès adapted the zip fastener he had seen on an American car for a leather bag, creating the first zipped handbag. The Bolide 1923 revisits that original domed silhouette, and the Mini reduces it to a little under 20 cm, an object that sits in the hand like a jewel box.
This Touch version combines black Chèvre goatskin with rolled handles and tabs in natural lizard, shaded from pale grey to deep charcoal in the ombré finish. The hardware is palladium, from the zip pulls to the protective feet on the base.
Inside, the bag is lined in black chèvre with an open pocket, and the stamp shows the lizard mark beside the Hermès Paris Made in France line. The G stamp dates it to 2026, and the detachable shoulder strap in black leather is included.
At about 18 by 13.5 cm and only 210 g, it holds a phone, a card case and keys, and works carried by the handles or cross-body on its strap of about 105 cm.

Keep the lizard away from moisture and avoid pressing it against hard edges, as the scales can lift; store stuffed in its dust bag.
