Gianni Versace 1990s Medusa Coin Bracelet, Fine Gold-Tone Links, Signed Clasp, 19.5 cm, with Pouch

A slender Gianni Versace bracelet of small Medusa coins and fluted bars, its clasp plate signed Gianni Versace Made in Italy, accompanied by a black Gianni Versace pouch.

The Piece

The coin bracelet in its finer form was the Gianni Versace piece most often worn every day: light enough to forget, distinctive enough to be recognised. The house struck small Medusa heads as if they were antique coins and linked them with fluted bars so that the chain lies flat and moves easily.

Here a run of small round coins alternates with rectangular bars, about 1.2 cm at its widest, and finishes with a fold-over box clasp. The signature plate is stamped in raised capitals Gianni Versace Made in Italy, and the tongue of the clasp carries a further Medusa. The gold tone is warm and slightly mellowed with age.

At about 19.5 cm it sits with a little movement on most wrists. It layers well with a heavier coin bracelet or a watch, and it comes with a black Gianni Versace storage pouch.
