A collaboration between Tokyo leather specialist Addict Clothes and custom motorcycle house Deus Ex Machina: a black sheepskin double rider with a quilted burgundy lining, made in Japan.
The Piece
Addict Clothes builds its jackets after British motorcycle clothing of the post-war decades, and Deus Ex Machina, born in Sydney, has become one of the defining names in custom motorcycles and the culture around them. Their joint double rider carries both labels inside the collar: Deus Ex Machina Motorcycles and Addict Clothes Japan, Quality of New Vintage.
The pattern is the classic double rider: notched collar with snap studs, an off-centre front zip, a slanted chest zip, two lower zip pockets, zipped cuffs and a belted hem with side adjusters. The sheepskin is soft and lightly wrinkled with wear, and the body is lined in a diamond-quilted burgundy cotton for warmth.
Tagged size 38, made in Japan by Addict Clothes; shell sheepskin, body lining cotton 100%, sleeve lining cotton 55% cupro 45%. Measurements: shoulder 44 cm, chest 49 cm across, sleeve 61 cm, length 63 cm, a men's medium.
It wears with the authority of an old riding jacket from the first day, and it will only improve.

- Light creasing and softening to the leather, especially at the back.

The labels, materials, stitching, hardware and construction are examined together and documented in Japan before dispatch; anything that cannot be confirmed is stated plainly in the description.
