Two complete souvenir-jacket compositions from WAREHOUSE, the Japanese Americana house. One face sets a large eagle descending through pine branches on diamond-quilted burgundy beneath bold “Japan” lettering; the navy-and-gold reverse carries a golden dragon circling Mount Fuji above cherry blossoms, with a tiger and a second eagle at the chest.

The Piece

The first face is built around a burgundy central panel with large diamond quilting. Across the back an eagle sweeps down toward a patterned pine branch, its white, black, brown and ochre plumage surrounded by stylized Japanese pine needles, and large “Japan” lettering in warm red and gold crowns the scene. The panel reads like an illustrated vintage textile rather than a modern logo, and the quilting passes through the composition, adding structure and a softly padded dimension. Two mirrored descending eagles cross the chest; ivory sleeves are framed by dusty-pink shoulder and arm stripes, and burgundy ribbing with cream, red and gold bands completes an elegant, nostalgic, distinctly mid-century palette.

The reverse turns to a more traditional embroidered sukajan. The body is deep navy satin with golden-yellow sleeves and muted plum shoulder accents. On the chest a roaring tiger head faces an eagle among curling clouds, and on the back a vivid golden dragon twists around cloud formations above snow-capped Mount Fuji, with delicate cherry blossoms spreading beneath the mountain to balance the dragon's ferocity with a quieter seasonal landscape. The embroidery in gold, red, ivory, pink, plum and charcoal stays expressive without losing the restrained vintage color architecture.

The motifs are the enduring vocabulary of the souvenir jacket.
