Rich black cloth becomes the canvas for vintage obi brocade woven with gold thread, peonies, chrysanthemums and classical geometry. Handmade from authentic kimono and obi textiles, this bomber unfolds like a ceremonial screen, at home in streetwear, a gallery or a collector's wardrobe.
The Piece
This one-of-a-kind bomber is reconstructed by hand from authentic vintage Japanese kimono and obi textiles. Brocade panels woven with brilliant gold thread, blooming peonies, chrysanthemums and traditional geometric wagara are set against a rich black ground, joining centuries of Japanese textile craft to a modern bomber silhouette.
Layered fan-inspired motifs flow across front and back. The metallic gold catches the light while richly colored peonies, chrysanthemums, hexagonal crests, lattice patterns and geometric textiles build remarkable depth, and the sweeping arrangement recalls folding screens and ceremonial kimono compositions. Every panel placement is unique, so no two jackets of this kind are ever identical.
Unlike a mass-produced souvenir jacket, the piece honors the art of kimono weaving through thoughtful reconstruction: the dramatic placement of the brocade gives the impression of ceremonial fans unfolding across the garment, as wearable as fashion and as collectible as textile art.
