The Piece

Created as the sculptural counterpoint to Hiropon, My Lonesome Cowboy magnified Murakami's strategy of forcing Western institutions to reconcile Japanese otaku sexuality with high-art legitimacy. The sculpture's audacious pose, impossible anatomical exaggeration and theatrical stance turned embarrassment into conceptual power. The poster records that performance not as scandal but as art-historical rupture: where Hiropon glimmers, Cowboy challenges.

Printed in the same disciplined 500 × 500 mm format and limited to 300 signed examples, the poster keeps continuity with the trilogy's documentary logic.
