Sukajan reversible Tora, bordado de tigre rugiente y escritura «Japan», satén marrón chocolate × champán

The tora, one of the sukajan's most enduring symbols, erupts across the back of this reversible jacket at monumental scale beneath sweeping “Japan” script. Warm chocolate and champagne satin give the classic Yokosuka formula a quieter sophistication, with a clean second face for days without the roar.

The Piece

The main face combines a rich chocolate-brown satin body with contrasting champagne-cream sleeves and striped rib-knit trim. Across the back an enormous roaring tiger head erupts in vivid yellow, white, black, red and brown embroidery: open jaws, curved fangs, an intense eye and flaring facial stripes, with long white whiskers and textured cheek fur adding movement against the dark ground. Above it, the word “Japan” is embroidered in sweeping white script, completing the traditional souvenir-jacket composition.

Two mirrored roaring tiger heads guard the chest, balanced whether the jacket is worn open or fully zipped; their simplified embroidery echoes the back without overwhelming the front. Reversed, the jacket becomes a restrained satin bomber with a champagne-cream body, chocolate-brown raglan sleeves, matching striped rib-knit trim, a clean unembroidered back and functional welt-style pockets.

The tiger entered Japanese visual culture through Chinese painting, folklore, imported art, warrior legend and tattoo design, and stands for courage, strength, authority, vigilance, protection, resilience and mastery over danger. Alongside dragons, eagles, koi and military maps it became a defining motif of Yokosuka souvenir jackets; here it is presented at unusually large scale, with the presence of wearable tattoo art.

Glossy satin, raglan sleeves, reversible construction, front zipper, striped rib-knit collar, cuffs and waistband, angled hand pockets and computerized embroidery follow the classic sukajan silhouette. The chocolate, champagne, yellow, black, white and scarlet palette is warmer than the bright primary combinations of many souvenir jackets, and its streamlined imagery wears more easily than crowded maximalist examples.
