The cobalt counterpart to the yellow stationery dress: a short Pleats Please tank printed with a pouring tube, a pencil sharpener and a red eraser in thick comic outlines.
The Piece
Pleats Please often issued a single print in two or three ground colours, and the stationery dress is a good example. Here the motifs are a tube pouring golden yellow, a teal cap, a grey cup and a red-and-white panel along the hem, each drawn at oversize scale so the composition wraps around the body. The style code points to about 2012.
The shape is the line's short scoop-neck tank, with narrow shoulders and a straight body ending above the knee. The blue is a strong, true cobalt that sits well against black or white.
Short Pleats Please dresses double as tunics: try it over slim black trousers or a pleated skirt for a longer line.
