A sleeveless mock-neck column whose front is crowded with comic-book women in saturated colour, while the back is a single sheet of electric neon green.
The Piece
Pleats Please has a long habit of splitting a garment into two personalities, and this model is one of the boldest examples. The front is a dense illustrated collage of faces, hands, hearts and hand-lettered speech, drawn in a loose pop-art style; the back and side panels are solid, so the dress changes completely as the wearer turns. The style code points to the early 2010s.
The shape is the line's classic long column: a small funnel neck, cut-away shoulders and a straight body with side vents near the hem. The pleats run vertically, which lengthens the figure, and the fabric stretches easily over the hip.
On the body it sits close and falls to mid-calf or just above the ankle. The neon back makes it easy to style with plain black or white.
