A matched Pleats Please top and bubble-hem skirt printed in jubilant 8-bit pixel art, with cartoon characters and a running mosaic of orange, violet, cobalt and lime squares.
The Piece
Pleats Please has always been the playful laboratory of the Issey Miyake house, a place where graphic designers and illustrators are let loose on garment-pleated polyester. The pixel-art prints of the late 2010s are among the most collectable of these, because they combine a nostalgic video-game language with the line's technical cloth. The style codes on this pair point to the 2017 period.
The top is a sleeveless shell with a scoop neck and slightly extended shoulders; the print places a pixelated figure and a block of lettering across the chest over saturated orange. The skirt carries a full-length mosaic punctuated by little characters, and its hem is threaded with an orange cord and toggle, so it can be drawn up into a balloon shape or left straight.
Worn together the set reads as a one-piece dress; separated, each half pairs easily with black. The pleating stretches comfortably and the elastic waist sits wherever you want it.

- Gently worn, overall very good.
- Light soiling inside the top neckline.
- Faint mark at the skirt hem, not obvious when worn.
