Three garments in one: a distressed indigo trucker jacket, a grey hoodie and a yellow plaid flannel shirt, fused together in one of the most recognisable Mihara Yasuhiro designs.
The Piece
The triple layered denim jacket is arguably the piece that defines modern Maison Mihara Yasuhiro. It looks as though someone pulled on a check shirt, a hoodie and a denim jacket, then had them stitched together, with the denim torn back to show what lies beneath. Style code A11BL022 places this version in the autumn-winter 2023 collection, and the design has been worn on stage by Japanese performers.
The outer layer is a richly faded indigo trucker with whiskered creases, button-flap chest pockets and a heavily frayed hem and seams. A charcoal sweat hood and zip front sit inside the collar, and beneath them a yellow and navy shadow-check flannel extends below the hem and opens across the back, where the denim splits to reveal it. The layers are joined at the seams so the whole jacket goes on in one movement.
Size 44 is the house medium but wears big, with a wide body and dropped shoulders. It is a full outfit on its own, so pair it with plain black trousers and simple sneakers.
