A royal-blue wool varsity jacket from Virgil Abloh's Louis Vuitton, its LV initials worked as marionettes on strings, with a crocheted pink flamingo and a checkerboard plush hanging from the front.
The Piece
Virgil Abloh treated the varsity jacket as a canvas for storytelling. In his spring-summer 2021 season, Zoooom with Friends, puppets, plush characters and handcrafted toys ran through the clothing, and the house initials were turned into marionettes dangling over tiny dancing figures. This jacket is believed to come from that season.
The body is a dense royal-blue wool with ivory grained cowhide sleeves and striped ribbed collar, cuffs and hem. On the chest an L and a V hang from strings above white figures; on the back a large appliqued LV is suspended the same way. A script L. Vuitton patch sits below the collar. The front carries a hand-crocheted pink flamingo and a checkerboard plush character, attached as part of the design. Inside, a royal-blue lining and a woven LV arrow label. Made in Italy.
Size 48 fits true with a classic, slightly boxy varsity shape. It is playful but beautifully made, and the puppets make it one of the most recognisable jackets of the Abloh years.

Condition
- Pre-owned, graded B.
- Small yellowish stain on the ivory leather at the left shoulder and light marks on the sleeves.
- General light soiling consistent with wear; wool body clean in the photographs.
- Crochet flamingo and plush intact.
