The Speedy, almost dismantled: overlapping fields of faded denim, frayed seams and Damier and Monogram patches wrap this Speedy Bandouliere 25, framed in deep indigo leather. Drawing on the Japanese boro tradition, it turns the language of repair into ornament, and arrives with strap, padlock, clochette, name tag and dust bag.

The Piece

Multiple blue tones move across the surface, from faded ice blue to washed indigo, broken deliberately into overlapping patches rather than one continuous field. Some sections expose lighter denim, others reveal darker Monogram- and Damier-patterned areas, and frayed seams and raw-looking borders are integrated into the design, so each patch carries its own texture, fade and pattern density and the surface changes with the viewing angle. Damier contributes geometry, Monogram contributes iconography, and the patchwork interrupts both, so the house's visual vocabulary appears fragmented and rediscovered.

Boro is the Japanese practice of layering, patching and reinforcing worn textiles so that repairs remain visible. The composition draws directly on that aesthetic and makes it a luxury construction: the bag appears repaired, layered and rebuilt by intention, and the distressed treatment carries the idea of accumulated textile history rather than simple decorative fading. Even within a repeated production model, every fray, patch and tonal shift reads as an individual event.

Under the textile sits the classic Speedy: compact, horizontal, softly structured and double-handled, carried by hand or worn on the shoulder or crossbody with the detachable strap. Deep indigo leather at the handles, tabs, strap and structural trim gives the pale denim a precise counterweight, warm gold-tone hardware at the handle fittings, strap attachments and lock cuts through the cool palette, and a tan leather patch on the lower front adds a third tone, like a maker's label on a reconstructed garment. Inside, a striped cotton lining and an interior zip pocket hold a wallet, smartphone, compact camera, sunglasses, keys and travel documents.

Many seasonal Speedy bags change only print or color; this one changes texture, giving it physical depth that flat printed canvas cannot reproduce and conceptual weight beyond a seasonal colorway. It rewards close inspection and editorial photography alike, and pairs well with dark denim, navy tailoring, charcoal wool, white shirting, black leather and military-inspired outerwear.
