A black cowhide biker from Pharrell Williams's autumn-winter 2024 Western collection, hung with long fringe across chest, back and sleeves and lined in silk quilted with cowboy scrollwork.
The Piece
For autumn-winter 2024 Pharrell Williams took Louis Vuitton to the American West, presenting a collection of denim, suede, tooled leather and cowboy tailoring that read as a love letter to frontier dress, with the house's luggage heritage running underneath.
The Fringe Leather Jacket is one of the season's strongest pieces. It is built as a classic asymmetric biker in glossy black cowhide with an oiled, slightly waxy hand: notched lapels held by antiqued brass LV snaps, a diagonal brass zip, zipped hand pockets, a flapped coin pocket and zipped cuffs with LV pulls. Long leather fringe falls from a Western yoke at front and back and runs down the outer sleeves. A belted strap gathers the hem. Inside, a lining of silk and cotton is quilted in Western scroll stitching, with polyester padding for warmth, and a brass chain hanger sits at the collar.
Size 50 gives a wide, slightly cropped silhouette that moves beautifully; the fringe swings with each step. It is a jacket for denim, boots and very little else.
