The Petite Malle as Piero Fornasetti might have imagined it: metallic gold leather printed with Roman portrait busts that fade as they cross the case.

The Piece

The 2021 Fornasetti capsule brought the Milanese atelier’s architectural drawings and classical faces to the house’s most famous shapes. On the Petite Malle, the busts sit within Monogram corners, brass S-lock and trunk studs, so the miniature trunk reads as both object and picture.

It was made in limited numbers and has become one of the more coveted Petite Malles of the decade.
