A Cyclone No. 441 in navy, the less common colour of the Lewis Leathers classic, softened to a deep inky blue with silver hardware and the gold-winged chest badge.
The Piece
First seen in 1973, the Cyclone remade the 1960s lancer-fronted rider with a concealed wrap-over front and a one-piece back. Black is the standard, but navy has long been the connoisseur’s choice: Slash famously wore a vintage navy Cyclone, and the colour shows the grain and patina of the leather in a way black does not.
This jacket has every Cyclone detail: snap-back collar and lapels, a heavy Clix main zip, a slanted zipped chest pocket, two zipped hand pockets, a sleeve change pocket, zipped cuffs and an adjustable waistband. It carries the Aviakit Made in England and Lewis Leathers labels and the gold wings badge at the chest.
Size 34 is a compact, close fit, short through the body. Navy pairs easily with grey, indigo and white, making it a more versatile jacket than its black twin.
Shows some signs of use without notable damage, grade B. A navy Cyclone in a wearable size is a genuinely good find.
