Junya Watanabe x Levi's AW2024 Cocoon Trucker Jacket with Frayed Panels, Faded Indigo, Size L

The Junya Watanabe and Levi's reconstructed trucker in the larger L size: faded indigo pieced with darker denim, frayed at every seam, and cut wide through the sleeves into a soft cocoon.

The Piece

Levi's and Junya Watanabe have collaborated for well over a decade, and the womenswear side of the partnership is where Watanabe takes the greatest liberties with the denim jacket. Each season he cuts apart genuine Levi's cloth and rebuilds the Type III trucker into a new silhouette.

Model JO-J202, with an AD2024 label, keeps the trucker's essentials, pointed collar, flap pockets, shank buttons and adjustable waist tabs, while the body is rebuilt from several washes of denim. A pale, whiskered yoke and chest give way to deeper blue at the sides and hem, and every join is left raw with white fringing. Inside, the yoke is lined in clean white cotton, a crisp contrast when the jacket is worn open.

Size L gives an especially generous drape, so this example will suit both womenswear and menswear wardrobes. It falls below the hip with broad, rounded sleeves.

Double-labelled with the Levi's red batwing and Junya Watanabe name, it is a fine example of how far Watanabe can push the most familiar jacket in the world.
