Junya Watanabe MAN x Jamiroquai AW2022 Runway Serape Fishtail Parka, Khaki, Size S

The serape fishtail parka from Junya Watanabe MAN AW2022, the collection made with Jamiroquai, combining a military mods coat with fringed Mexican serape panels front and back.

The Piece

For AW2022 Junya Watanabe MAN abandoned the conventional lookbook and restaged Jamiroquai's Virtual Insanity video, with frontman Jay Kay as the face of the collection. The clothes echoed his wardrobe of the 1990s: oversized hats, military surplus and bright ethnic textiles worn together with total confidence.

This coat is the collection's emblem. The base is a khaki cotton fishtail parka with a stand collar, heavy aluminium zip, snap storm placket, drawstring waist and hem and a split fishtail back. Across the chest, the yoke and the upper back Junya sets panels of serape cloth in the Saltillo pattern, striped in pink, green, red, orange and turquoise and finished with black fringe that falls over the front pockets and across the back.

The care label carries WJ-C001 and AD2022, made in Japan by Comme des Garçons, and notes that the design is inspired by the original Sarape Saltillo of Saltillo, Coahuila, and Contla, Tlaxcala. The collection label at the neck bears the Jamiroquai Buffalo Man figure, and the interior carries a blue size tab.

Tagged S, it is cut very large: 62 cm across the shoulders, 72 cm pit to pit and 97 cm long, landing below the knee. It suits most men from small to large as an oversized coat.
