Junya Watanabe MAN workwear overalls in a sand-beige cotton and wool cloth, with crossed webbing straps, a buttoned bib placket, carpenter pockets and drawcord hems that taper the wide legs.
The Piece
Workwear is the backbone of Junya Watanabe MAN. Season after season, Watanabe returns to the coverall, the chore coat and the overall, studying their details closely and then adjusting proportions and cloth until the familiar becomes quietly new.
These overalls are made from an unusual blend of 58% cotton and 42% wool with a dry, slightly slubby handle, and finished with cotton tape bindings in a darker tan. The bib carries a large flap pocket and a buttoned placket, and the crossed shoulder straps are woven cotton webbing with metal clasps. The back has a carpenter's patch pocket, a rule pocket and a hammer loop, and the hems close with drawcords so the wide legs can be gathered into a balloon shape.
The fit is roomy throughout, as the measurements suggest, with a deep rise and a relaxed seat. The XS size will suit a range of builds because the straps adjust the length.
Worn over a white tee or under a short jacket, they are practical and distinctive, a direct line to the craft side of Watanabe's menswear.
